Kiwi Gains Slightly Against Majors Following March 2008 Business Confidence Survey [NZD/USD]
4/7/2008 6:42:45 PM The New Zealand dollar gained slightly against its major counterparts following March 2008 Business Opinion Survey. As of now 6:35 pm ET, the kiwi is worth 0.7953 against the greenback, 1.9740 against the euro, 1.1628 against the aussie and 81.44 versus the yen.

Data released from New Zealand Institute of Economic Research (NZIER) showed that General business confidence deteriorated sharply in the March 2008 quarter. On a seasonally adjusted basis, a net 56% of firms expect the general business situation to deteriorate in the next six months. This is the highest level for this figure since December 2005 and is up from 38% in December 2007.
