Update from our US data team: FXWW

From the FXWW Chatroom – Data that SHOULD be released next week: Monday: NY Fed Consumer Sentiment Tuesday: Empire, PPI, Redbook, IBD Wednesday: MBA, Import Export Prices, NY Fed Business Leaders, Atlanta Fed Inflation, NAHB Builder Confidence, DOE Refinery Stats Thursday: Claims, Phil Fed Mfg, DOE Natural Gas Stocks Friday: Industrial Production, BLS State Unemployment, Michigan, St. Louis GDP Now, NY Fed GDPNow Data that will almost certainly will NOT be released next week: Retail Sales, Business Inventories, Housing Starts Any data that was already prepped before the shutdown started could be released with little delay after the shutdown ends. But, any data that was being worked on when the shutdown started or had not been started will be delayed beyond their scheduled dates. So in terms of next week’s data, our data team would expect that even if the shutdown ended today, they could not get the data scheduled for next week (retail sales, business, inventories, and housing starts) ready in time for next week’s release dates.
