Stock Index Weekly Market Type Analysis 18 April 2016

Each week I review the current market type and fundamental considerations on a variety of stock and commodity indices. Market type analysis is critical to trade planning.

  • US Dow Jones – MT is sideways volatile. Bull phase of sideways volatile coming to a close. Wait for now.
  • US S&P 500 – MT is sideways volatile. Bull phase of sideways volatile coming to a close. Wait for now.
  • US Nasdaq – MT is sideways volatile. Bull phase of sideways volatile coming to a close. Wait for now.
  • US Russell 2000 – MT is bear volatile. Wait.
  • UK 100 – MT is sideways normal. Wait.
  • Europe 50 – MT is bear normal. Continue short, but with caution as we could be turning sideways.
  • Germany 30 – MT is sideways volatile. Wait.
  • France 40 – MT is bear volatile. Wait.
  • Italy 40 – MT is bear normal. Continue short, but with caution as we could be turning sideways.
  • Spain 35 – MT is bear volatile. Continue short, but with caution as we could be turning sideways.
  • Swiss 30 –  MT is bear normal. Continue short, but bullish engulfing week suggests caution.
  • Netherlands 25 –  MT is sideways volatile. Wait.
  • Japan 225 – MT is bear normal. Continue short, but with caution as we could be turning sideways.
  • Hong Kong 33 – MT is bear volatile. Wait.
  • China Class A Shares – MT is bear normal. Continue short, but with caution as we could be turning sideways.
  • Singapore 30 – MT is bear volatile. Wait.
  • Australia 200 – MT is sideways normal. Wait.
  • New Zealand 50 – MT is bull fast. Continue to buy but careful of a sudden reversal in this market type.
  • Canada 60 – MT is sideways volatile. Wait.
  • Emerging Markets – MT is bear volatile. Wait.
  • Gold – MT is bull normal. Continue to buy.
  • Gold vs EURO – MT is bull normal. But still low conviction based off bearish price action.
  • Silver – MT is bull normal.  Breaking out into a bull MT look to buy.
  • Silver vs EURO – MT is bull normal.  Breaking out into a bull MT look to buy.
  • Copper – MT is sideways normal. Wait or short.
  • Iron Ore – MT is sideways normal. Wait.
  • Platinum – MT is sideways normal.  Wait.
  • Palladium – MT is sideways normal. Wait.
  • Bitcoin – MT is sideways quiet. Wait.
  • Brent Oil – MT is sideways normal.  Wait now.
  • WTI Oil – MT is sideways normal.  Wait now.
  • Natural Gas – MT is sideways normal.  Wait.
  • Corn – MT is bull normal. Breaking out of sideways quiet, look to buy with a scale-in approach.
  • Sugar – MT is sideways volatile.  Bearish hammer after busted breakout suggests sell, continue short.
  • Soy Bean – MT is bull normal. Continue to scale-in.
  • Wheat – MT is sideways normal. Wait.
  • Cocoa – MT is bear volatile.  Continue short.
  • US T-Bond – MT is bull normal. Continue to buy.
  • Euro Bund – MT is bull normal. Look to buy.
  • UK GILTS – MT is sideways volatile. Wait.
  • Junk bonds – MT is bear volatile. Wait.
